Medical Leadership

Meet the NPMD Leadership Team

NPMD is guided by a physician-led team with deep experience in emergency medicine, plastic surgery, family nursing, hospice, home health, wellness, and non-surgical care. Patients come to us for thoughtful planning, direct communication, and care that feels more personal than a standard clinic handoff.

NPMD doctors and patients in consultation
Stephen Carney, MD
Clinical Profile

Stephen Carney, MD

Languages spoken: English

Dr. Carney brings decades of physician leadership to NPMD, with a care style centered on clear diagnostics, practical treatment planning, and direct physician involvement when cases are complex or high-stakes.

Medical director and physician oversight

Dr. Carney has practiced medicine since the 1970s and has cared for a very large volume of patients across acute, emergency, and hospital-based settings. That depth of experience gives NPMD strong physician oversight when patients need careful evaluation and a calmer, more structured next step.

His academic path included MIT and Harvard Medical School, and his career has included hospital and emergency-service leadership roles. At NPMD, that background shows up as rigorous clinical judgment paired with a direct, reassuring bedside style.

He helps guide the medical side of the clinic so primary care, diagnostics, wellness support, and treatment planning stay medically grounded and easier for patients to understand.

Care philosophy

For Dr. Carney, medicine is not just a clinical role but a calling. He believes good care should reduce confusion, restore trust, and help patients feel that someone is truly following through on their behalf.

Patients can expect a physician who values listening, medical clarity, and continuity. Outside the clinic, his long-term practice of martial arts, tai chi, and mindfulness informs the calm, disciplined way he approaches care.

"I specialize in one thing: taking care of ill or injured people."

Joel A. Aronowitz, MD
Clinical Profile

Joel A. Aronowitz, MD

Languages spoken: English

Dr. Aronowitz brings decades of experience in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery, helping patients navigate surgical planning with a strong emphasis on precision, regeneration, and thoughtful follow-through.

Plastic surgery and reconstructive expertise

Dr. Aronowitz has spent more than 30 years building a reputation in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery, with experience spanning facial procedures, body contouring, scar revision, and breast surgery. His clinical work has focused on combining aesthetic judgment with practical surgical planning that helps patients understand both the procedure and the recovery path.

His background also includes clinical research around regenerative and technology-supported approaches to cosmetic rejuvenation and reconstruction. That perspective adds depth when patients need a careful conversation about options, tradeoffs, and what a procedure is realistically intended to improve.

At NPMD, his role strengthens the surgical side of the care experience for patients exploring procedures such as facelift, tummy tuck, liposuction, breast surgery, or revision-focused planning.

Care philosophy

Dr. Aronowitz believes good surgical care starts with clarity. Patients should understand candidacy, technique, recovery, and expected goals before committing to a procedure, and they should feel guided rather than pressured throughout that process.

Patients can expect a surgeon who values personalized planning, regenerative thinking when appropriate, and a measured approach to both cosmetic and reconstructive concerns.

"Surgical planning works best when patients understand both the opportunity and the recovery ahead of them."

Armine (Amy) Tadevosyan, FNP
Clinical Profile

Armine (Amy) Tadevosyan, FNP

Languages spoken: English, Russian, Armenian

Amy combines advanced practice training with a highly personal care style, helping patients feel heard while building plans around prevention, symptom relief, long-term wellness, and culturally responsive communication.

Co-founder and family nurse practitioner

Amy brings more than two decades of medical and healthcare experience to NPMD. Her background spans nursing, care coordination, preventive medicine, and the day-to-day realities of helping patients navigate care across different stages of life.

Her training began with a nursing degree from the University of Maryland and continued through graduate business and nursing study, followed by post-graduate Family Nurse Practitioner training. That mix gives her both clinical strength and a practical understanding of how care systems actually work for patients.

As co-founder of NPMD, she helped shape a model built on access, listening, and continuity rather than rushed visits. Her work is especially valuable for patients who want education, trust, and real follow-through.

Care philosophy

Amy's perspective as an immigrant and community-centered clinician shapes the way she practices. She believes care should reflect the values, language needs, and lived experience of the person in front of her, not just the diagnosis on the chart.

Patients can expect a warm, attentive experience with room for questions and thoughtful guidance. Her goal is to design care that feels personalized, respectful, and realistic outside the clinic too.

"Every patient's care should be designed around their individual needs and cultural values."

Gevorg (George) Adjian, RN
Clinical Profile

Gevorg (George) Adjian, RN

Languages spoken: English, Russian, Armenian

George brings nursing leadership and a gap-closing mindset to NPMD, helping patients feel supported through prevention, follow-up, hospice-related care, and treatment coordination that does not stop after the first conversation.

Registered nurse and clinical leadership

George has more than two decades of experience in the medical field and has performed thousands of procedures. His background includes emergency-room nursing as well as deep involvement in hospice and end-of-life care, where communication and follow-through matter most.

He has spent much of his career focused on the missed opportunities that happen when serious conditions go undetected or poorly coordinated. That experience helped shape NPMD's emphasis on prevention, direct access, and stronger communication across services.

At NPMD, George supports clinical operations, patient education, and the practical side of care delivery so patients feel there is a real bridge from diagnosis to ongoing support.

Care philosophy

George believes one of the biggest problems in healthcare is the lack of communication between people involved in a patient's care. His approach is built around closing those gaps before they become bigger health problems.

Patients can expect clear communication, a prevention-first mindset, and someone who treats continuity as part of the job, not an afterthought.

"Prevention is better than treatment, and follow-through is part of good care."
